Mangalore (or Mangaluru) is an Arabian Sea port and a major commercial center in the Indian state of Karnataka. Mangalore developed as a port in the Arabian Sea during ancient times and became a major port of India. The port is used as a staging point for sea traffic along the Malabar Coast. Mangalore's economy comprises industrial, commercial, agricultural processing and port-related activities. The New Mangalore Port is India's eighth largest port, in terms of cargo handling.

Mannheim is a city in the southwestern part of Germany, the third-largest in the German state of Baden-Württemberg with a 2015 population of approximately 305,000 inhabitants. The city is at the centre of the larger densely populated Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region which has a population of 2,400,000 and is Germany's eighth-largest metropolitan region.

Maputo is the capital and most populous city of Mozambique. Located near the southern end of the country. The city had a population of 1,094,628 (2007). The Maputo metropolitan area includes the neighbouring city of Matola, and has a total population of 1,766,823.

Maputo is also noted for its vibrant cultural scene and distinctive, eclectic architecture.

Masaya is the capital city of Masaya department in Nicaragua. It is situated approximately 14 km west of Granada and 31 km southeast from Managua. The town of Masaya is just east of Masaya Volcano, an active volcano from which the city takes its name. It had an estimated population of 140,000 in 2005), and is Nicaragua's third most populous city.

Medellín is the second-largest city in Colombia and the capital of the department of Antioquia. It is located in the Aburrá Valley, a central region of the Andes Mountains in South America. The city has an estimated population of 2.5 million as of 2017. The metropolitan area of Medellín is the second-largest urban agglomeration in Colombia in terms of population and economy, with more than 3.7 million people.

Medellín is important to the region for its universities, academies, commerce, industry, science, health services, flower-growing and festivals.

Milan is the capital of Lombardy and the second-most populous city in Italy after Rome, with the city proper having a population of 1,366,037 while its province-level municipality has a population of 3,235,000. The wider Milan metropolitan area, known as Greater Milan, is a polycentric metropolitan region that extends over central Lombardy and eastern Piedmont and which counts an estimated total population of 7.5 million, making it by far the largest metropolitan area in Italy.

While Rome is Italy's political capital, Milan is the country's industrial and financial heart. 

Miskolc is a city in north-eastern Hungary. It has a population of 161,265 (1st Jan 2014) and a population of 263 658 in the metropolitan area. It is also the county capital of Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén and the regional centre of Northern Hungary.

Miskolc is known for its heavy industry, and the largest boost to its economy was indeed provided by the industrialization during the Socialist era; in fact industry (including metallurgy) has a long history in the city.

The local government is trying to strengthen the city's role in culture and tourism.

Montego Bay is the capital of the parish of St. James and is also Jamaica's only other officially incorporated city, referred to as The Second City. The city with a population of 110,115 (2011), is however the fourth largest urban area by population after Kingston, Spanish Town and Portmore, all of which form the Greater Kingston Metropolitan Area, home to over half a million people. 

 The city is enclosed in a watershed, drained by several rivers such as the Montego River.

Montevideo is the capital and largest city of Uruguay. The southernmost capital city in the Americas, Montevideo is situated in the southern coast of the country, on the northeastern bank of the Río de la Plata. According to the 2011 census, the city proper has a population of 1,319,108 (about one-third of the country's total population). The metropolitan area has just below 2 million inhabitants.

Montpellier is a city in southern France. It is the capital of the Hérault department. Montpellier is the 7th-largest city of France, and is also the fastest-growing city in the country over the past 25 years. In 2014, 589,610 people lived in the urban area and 275,318 in the city itself.

Nearly one third of the population are students from three universities and from three higher education institutions that are outside the university framework in the city.

Montreal is the most populous municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec and the second-most populous municipality in Canada as a whole. The city is centred on the Island of Montreal, which took its name from the same source as the city, and a few much smaller peripheral islands.

Moscow is the capital and most populous city of Russia, with 12.2 million residents within the city limits and 17.1 million within the urban area. Moscow has the status of a Russian federal city.

Muzaffarpur is a sub-metropolitan city located in Muzaffarpur district in the Tirhut region of Bihar. It is situated on the banks of the perennial Burhi Gandak River, which flows from the Someshwar Hills of Himalayas. It also serves as the headquarters of Tirhut division, Muzaffarpur district and the Muzaffarpur Railway District. It is the fourth most populous city in Bihar.

Nagpur is the winter capital, a sprawling metropolis, and the third-largest city of the Indian state of Maharashtra after Mumbai and Pune. Nagpur is the 13th largest Indian city in terms of population. It has been proposed as one of the Smart Cities in Maharashtra. The city has been adjudged the 20th cleanest city in India and the top mover in the western zone as per Swachh Sarvekshan 2016

Namchi or Namtse is the capital of the district of South Sikkim in the Indian state of Sikkim. The appellation Namchi means Sky (Nam) High (Chi) in Sikkimese.

Nashik is an ancient city in the northwest region of Maharashtra at India. Nashik is best known for being one of Hindu pilgrimage sites, that of Kumbh Mela which is held every 12 years.

Naya Raipur is a city located between National Highways NH-6 and NH-43, about 17 km south-east of the current capital Raipur; Swami Vivekananda Airport separates the old and new cities. Naya Raipur is serving as the administrative capital of the State and also caters to the infrastructural needs of industry and trade in the region. Naya Raipur is surrounded by the cities of Raipur, Arang, Mahasamund, Rajim and Abhanpur. Naya Raipur covers an area of about 8000 hectares.

Delhi is the capital of India and is regarded as the heart of the nation. It is situated in northern India and stands on the west bank of Yamuna River bounded by Uttar Pardesh and on the north, west and south by Haryana Delhi and also a state for administrative purposes. It is one of the largest metropolises in the country.

The City of New York, often called New York City or simply New York, is the most populous city in the United States. It is also the most densely populated major city in the United States.

Nottingham is a city and unitary authority area in Nottinghamshire, England, 128 miles (206 km) north of London, in the East Midlands. In 2015, Nottingham had an estimated population of 321,550, with the wider urban area, which includes many of the city's suburbs, having a population of 915,977.

Nottingham has links to the legend of Robin Hood and to the lace making, bicycle (notably Raleigh bikes), and tobacco industries.

Oulu is a city and municipality of 201,124 inhabitants (31 August 2017) in the region of Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland.

Oulu Region is known for its technology, the hi-tech growth having started after the establishment of Oulu University in 1958. There are two science parks. The region is home to many hi-tech companies, such as the telecommunications company Nokia.

Panaji City is the administrative and political capital of the state of Goa, located in the Tiswadi Taluka of North Goa. It lies in the Konkan region and is well connected to all parts of the country by road, rail and air network. It is one of the fastest growing cities of Goa, administered by the ‘Corporation of the City of Panaji’ (CCP). Economy is driven majorly by tourism since it is a popular and an attractive tourist destination nationally as well as internationally.

Paris is the capital and most populous city in France, with an official population of 2,206,488 (2015). The city is a commune and department, and the heart of the Île-de-France region (colloquially known as the 'Paris Region'), whose 2016 population of 12,142,802 represented roughly 18 percent of the population of France.

Pasighat is the headquarters of East Siang district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Situated at the eastern foothills of the Himalayas at 155 meters above mean sea level, Pasighat is Arunachal's oldest town.

Patna is the capital and largest city of the state of Bihar in India. Patna is the second-largest city in eastern India after Kolkata.

Philadelphia is the sixth-most populous city in the United States, with an estimated population of 1,567,872 and more than 6 million in the seventh-largest metropolitan statistical area, as of 2016. Philadelphia is the economic and cultural anchor of the Delaware Valley, located along the lower Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers, within both the Mid-Atlantic region and the Northeast megalopolis. The Delaware Valley's population of 7.2 million ranks it as the eighth-largest combined statistical area in the United States.

Pilsen (Plzeň) is a city in western Bohemia in the Czech Republic. It has a population of about 160-170 thousand people, and is the fourth largest in the Czech Republic.

The city is known worldwide for Pilsner beer, as the pilsner style of beer was developed in Pilsen in the 19th century, and Pilsen now has the biggest distillery in the country. The city is well known for the Pilsner Urquell (since 1842) and Gambrinus (since 1869) breweries. A popular tourist attraction is the Plzeňský Prazdroj brewery tour where visitors can discover the history of beer.

Pimpri Chinchwad, also known as Navi Pune, is a part of Pune in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is the urban agglomeration of Pune. It consists of the towns of Pimpri, Chinchwad, Nigdi, Akurdi, Ravet, Bhosari, Pimple Gurav, Moshi, Punawale, and Sangavi, which are governed by a common municipal body (the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation or PCMC). It has been divided into sectors for proper planning of the city. It is located to the north-west and is connected to the centre of Pune city via the Old Pune-Mumbai Highway.

Pittsburgh is a city in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the United States, and is the county seat of Allegheny County. As of 2017, a total population of 305,704 inhabitants within the city limits. The metropolitan population of 2,353,045 is the largest in both the Ohio Valley and Appalachia, and the second-largest in Pennsylvania (behind Philadelphia).

The area is home to 68 colleges and universities, including research and development leaders Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.

Port Blair is the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a union territory of India situated in the Bay of Bengal. It is also the local administrative sub-division (tehsil) of the islands, the headquarters for the district of South Andaman, and is the territory's only notified town. The small islands here were home to British colonists during India’s pre-independence period.

Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal after Lisbon and one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Peninsula (population 287,591). The urban area of Porto, which extends beyond the administrative limits of the city, has a population of 2.4 million. It is known for known for its stately bridges and port wine production. In the medieval Ribeira (riverside) district, narrow cobbled streets wind past merchants’ houses and cafes

Porto Alegre is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. its population of 1,481,019 inhabitants (2016) makes it the tenth most populous city in the country and the centre of Brazil's fifth largest metropolitan area, with 4,405,760 inhabitants (2010).

The city became famous for being the first city that implemented participatory budgeting.

Prague is the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic, and the historical capital of Bohemia. Situated in the north-west of the country on the Vltava river, the city is home to about 1.3 million people, while its larger urban zone is estimated to have a population of 2.2 million.

Prague has been a political, cultural and economic centre of central Europe complete with a rich history. 

Puducherry formerly known as Pondicherry , is a union territory of India. It was formed out of four exclaves of former French India, namely Pondichéry (Pondicherry; now Puducherry), Karikal (Karaikal), Mahé and Yanaon (Yanam). It is named after the largest district, Puducherry. Historically known as Pondicherry, the territory changed its official name to Puducherry on 20 September 2006.

Pune is a city located in the state of Maharashtra in western India. It is the second largest city in the state after the state capital, Mumbai. A pride of the Peshwas, the city was an epicentre of the Maratha Empire in the 18th century. Considered to be the cultural capital of Maharashtra, Pune is known as "Oxford of the East" due to the presence of several well-known educational institutions in the city.

Raipur is a city in Raipur district in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. It is the 2nd largest city and the erstwhile capital of Chhattisgarh. It was formerly a part of Madhya Pradesh before the state of Chhattisgarh was formed on 1 November 2000. Physiographically, the district is divided into three units viz. Chhattisgarh plain, eastern and south eastern undulating and hilly tract and southern hilly range. The land use pattern indicates that 42% of the area is occupied by the agricultural land.

The former capital of the princely state of Saurashtra, Rajkot was founded in the 16th c. by the jadeja Rajputs, who ruled until independence. During the colonial period, the city was the administrative headquarters of the Saurashtra region, and today it is the district headquarters. The city is situated on the Aji River and sprawls with regal architecture. It is also an industrial center and an important hub for the body building of vehicles.

Ranchi is the capital of the Indian state of Jharkhand, and is the 3rd most populous city of the state. Ranchi was the centre of the Jharkhand movement, which called for a separate state for the tribal regions of South Bihar, northern Orissa, western West Bengal and the eastern area of what is present-day Chhattisgarh. Ranchi is a prominent political, commercial, industrial medical and eductional hub of eastern India.

Reykjavík is the capital and largest city of Iceland. It is located in southwestern Iceland. Its latitude is 64°08' N, making it the world's northernmost capital of a sovereign state. With a population of around 123,300 (and over 216,940 in the Capital Region), it is the heart of Iceland's cultural, economic and governmental activity, and is a popular tourist destination.

Rio de Janeiro was the 2nd most populous city in Brazil, after São Paulo (2010 data). There were 5,940,224 people residing in the city of Rio de Janeiro. In 2017 the metropolitan area around Rio de Janeiro had a population of more than 12 million.

Rio de Janeiro is one of the most visited cities in the Southern Hemisphere and is known for its beaches, famous landmarks, carnival.

Rotterdam is a city in the Netherlands, in South Holland within the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt river delta at the North Sea, and has a population of 633,471 (2017). It is the second-largest city in the Netherlands, just behind Amsterdam. The metropolitan region has 2,261,844 inhabitants (2014).

Rourkela is a planned city located in the northern part of Odisha. It is the third largest city in Odisha. It is situated about 340 kilometres (211 mi) north of state capital Bhubaneswar and is surrounded by a range of hills and encircled by rivers. The city is also popularly known as Ispat Nagar and also as the Steel City of Odisha. It has one of the largest steel plants of the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) known as Rourkela Steel Plant.

Sabadell is the second largest city in the comarca of the Vallès Occidental in Catalonia, 20 km (12 mi) north of Barcelona, Spain. It had a total population of 207,444 in 2014.

During the 19th and 20th century it was the pioneer in the industrial revolution of the textile sector in Catalonia, converting itself in the most important wool city of the Spanish state and gaining the nickname “the Catalan Manchester”.

Sabadell is an important communications point. Two motorways run beside the city and some roads link it with nearby cities and towns.

Sagar (Saugor), is a city in the state of Madhya Pradesh in central India. Situated on a spur of the Vindhya Range and 1,758 feet (536 m) above sea-level. The city is around 180 kilometres (110 mi) northeast of state capital, Bhopal. The city was established as the capital of Maratha people in 1735 and later was an important site during British rule. Many relics remain from these periods, such a number of forts.

Salem is a city in Salem district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Salem is a major textile centre in Tamil Nadu, with more than 125 spinning mills, weaving units and garment units. Until the 1960s, it had less few spinning mills. Private handloom weaving began to increase in the region after the 1960s and during the 1980s, the textile industry expanded with major spinning mills and dying units established supporting the industry. The area also houses a number of sago factories for the production starch.

Salerno is a city and commune in Campania (southwestern Italy) and is the capital of the province of Salerno. It is located on the Gulf of Salerno on the Tyrrhenian Sea. It has a population of 133,199 (2014).

The city is divided into three distinct zones: the medieval sector, the 19th century sector and the more densely populated post-war area, with its several apartment blocks.

Santa Clara is a city in Santa Clara County, California. The city's population was 116,468 according to the 2010 Census. It is located 45 miles (72 km) southeast of San Francisco.

Santa Clara is located in the center of Silicon Valley and is home to the headquarters of several high-tech companies such as Intel. It is also home to Santa Clara University.

The port city of Santander is the capital of the autonomous community and historical region of Cantabria situated on the north coast of Spain. The city has a population of 178,465 (2013).

As a service centre at the regional level, Santander contains important public institutions and private organisations with a large number of employees, including Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, the University of Cantabria and Grupo Santander.
