Smart City practitioners – this is how we aim to help you.
Good ideas and inspiration can come from anywhere. This smart city knowledge repository is here to facilitate your learning. We have organised the knowledge according to a knowledge map, and interlinked actors, cities, solutions, so that you may find solutions most suited to your needs.
The top level of our knowledge map is divided into three different themes (the economy, the society, and the environment). Each of these three themes relates to different domains, and a domain can cover more than one theme. Domains constitute the broad sector or scope of interest, and covers different objectives of what policy makers and urban planners wish to achieve. For each objective the knowledge map links to different smart solutions applicable for achieving the objective. And finally indicators are defined for measuring each smart solution.
If you as a smart city practitioner or policy maker have an objective you wish to achieve, we are aiming at building communities around each objective in our knowledge map. Communities will have discussion forums and blogs as well as links to agencies and experts with knowledge of smart solutions that can help you achieve your objective.
Smart solutions also links to the case studies, experts, agencies, companies, academia, and civil society working with that smart solution and who may offer specific products for individual smart solutions.
Finally, we are mapping cities not just in India who are working on the Smart Cities mission, but also South Korea, and cities globally who offer experiences from which they themselves and others can learn, not just from best practices, but also mistakes.
We are aiming at mapping not just knowledge and anecdotal evidence. We want to, over time, make measurements of smart solutions through a comprehensive set of indicators that will let you as the user compare cities and solutions on the parameters you find most relevant for your situation and for solving your problems.
Should you have a document, a case study, or a product you think is relevant for other smart cities practitioners, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
