GIFT - Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (Gandhinagar - India)
GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City) is the first International Financial Services Centre in India, located in the city of Gandhinagar, State of Gujarat, covering an area of 15 million square feet (construction is still ongoing, but some of the main buildings are already operational – more than 100 companies were working in the city by the end of 2017). It is also becoming a smart city, as the urban settlement includes wide residential areas, social facilities, and public services infrastructures.
The city aims to become one of the largest financial hubs in the world, but also a liveable urban environment for its citizens. Corporate buildings include Commercial and Office Buildings, an International Techno Park and International Market Zone, Banking and Insurance Facilities, Training Centre for Financial Services, and World Trade Centre. Social facilities will include Service Apartments and Residential Flats, Low Income Housing, Hostels, Restaurants and Food Courts, Business Hotel, Shopping Centre, Retail Stores and Banks, Medical Centre and Hospital, Entertainment Centre and Theatre, Schools (International and Central Board of Secondary Education), Clubs, Convention and Exhibition Centres, and a Training Centre (Language School).
GIFT city will have a City Command and Control Centre to concentrate, monitor, and manage all important services and infrastructures: water treatment plant, power station, ICT system, district cooling system, domestic gas, waste management, firefighting, utility tunnel, digital signage on the streets, irrigation systems, city information desk, traffic management, parking areas, area traffic control, road condition system, and real-time travel response.
