Hubli Dharwad City Corporation

Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation was constituted in the year 1962 by combining two cities separated by distance of 20 kilometers. This was a unique experiment in urban development history. The area of this was 202.3 Sq. kms. spread over 45 revenue villages. The population of the city as per the 1991 census was 700000. The present population is nearly more than 9,43,000 lakhs. Under the Government of India act of 1850, The Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Council was established on August 15 1855.
