Cixi, China
Cixi is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of the sub-provincial city of Ningbo, Zhejiang. At the 2010 census, its population was 1,462,383. Its urban agglomeration built-up (or metro) area, largely contiguous with Cixi plus the county-level city of Yuyao, had 2,473,042 inhabitants.
Cixi is an important manufacturing city in northern Zhejiang province.
Cixi is located on the shore of East-China Sea and the southern end of Hangzhou Bay Bridge, with Ningbo on the east, Hangzhou on the west and Shanghai on the north across the sea. All the four international airports and two international deep-water harbors can be reached within one and a half hours’ drive. And the opening of Hangzhou Bay Bridge provides more convenient traffic conditions for Cixi to link up with Shanghai and integrate with Yangtze River Delta so as to further develop its marine economy.
