Zaragoza, also called Saragossa in English, is the capital city of the Zaragoza province and of the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. In 2010 the population of the city of Zaragoza was 701,090.
The city is famous for its folklore, local gastronomy, and landmarks.
Zaragoza is an industrial centre and the site of the annual National Trade Fair. Industry includes production of metal, automotive and machine parts, electronics, leather goods, textiles, and foodstuffs. More than half of the city’s population works in the service sector. Zaragoza is also a busy railway junction and a trade centre for the agricultural products of the surrounding fertile river basin.
